Kamenashi, Ueda, and Nakamaru are now active in their own genres. What were the 15 years you spent as KAT-TUN like for you?
Nakamaru: Being able to celebrate our 15th anniversary is a result of the support of so many people.
Kamenashi: I think it's really a miracle that we can celebrate our 15th anniversary like this, even though we haven't been able to spend time with our fans in a good way for the 5th and 10th years.
Ueda: It's like a ship with holes in various places that almost sank, but with the help of fans and everyone involved, we were able to repair it and finally reach the 15th anniversary (laughs).
N: But I also feel like it all happened so fast...
U: The number of people in the group has changed, but I think the relationships and feelings between the members haven't changed.
K: The base of how we perceive things and how we take on challenges hasn't changed much either. As for the changes in our visuals... Everyone already knows about it so we don't need to mention it (laughs).
N: Our human nature hasn't changed either. Well, 15 years is a long time to settle down and mature.
U: In the past, when I went to hot springs for magazine shoots, I used to think that they just wanted to take pictures of me naked, but now I love hot springs, and I'm glad to have such a job. I'm sure this is because I'm getting older (laughs).
So, what are the areas where the members have changed or grown a lot?
N: In terms of work, I feel that I have gained a lot of experience in various fields. I'm not just a passive participant, but I've also started to express my ideas and participate in creative aspects.
U: Nakamaru's image is that he enjoys doing things that the experts like, like editing videos.
K: That's true. I get the impression that he does things that are focused on what he likes and what he is passionate about.
N: That may be true.
U: Kamenashi also does what he likes, right? He has clear tastes, so he enjoys what he likes even more.
K: Yes, but isn't that the case with everyone? It was unthinkable in the past, but Ueda is now active in variety shows.
U: Maybe it's because I have such a strong image, but lately people think that I like to take on hard things. That's not true (laughs).
K: When you think about it, in a good way, Ueda's image may be completely different from when he made his debut (laughs).
U: I'm just overcoming the tough stuff because it's for the good of the group, but maybe it's a change to be able to think like this now.
N: After all, individual work leads to the growth of the group in some ways.
U: It would be strange if we didn't grow as human beings. 15 years of living as KAT-TUN and not growing would be the end. However, if we continue to do what we have in front of us, rather than looking for big changes, it will naturally lead to results.
K: Because there are people who support us in this way, it gives us support and energy to keep the group alive.
U: Yes. That's why I want this year to be the one where we think about what we can do to make our fans happy.
K: We want to make this the year to face KAT-TUN again, and we also want to make this the year we can feel together with our fans.
